Bully!

Parents of children, no matter how old they are, they must see this movie with you.

I understand with  the R rating  given to this movie you may think you shouldn't but I implore you, go see it then discuss it so we can teach our children that this behavior  can NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN!

How any parent could or would justifiy this is beyond me.

September 22, 2010 Tyler Clementi said to the world "Jumping off the G-W Bridge. Sorry"

This child Tyler Clementi felt so despondent that he would take his own life. On September 22, 2010, Clementi took a train to New York and posted a mobile status update on his Facebook page that read, "Jumping off the gw bridge sorry”.

Before killing himself Tyler's roommate set up a video recorder and taped an intimate moment between Tyler and another man.

Tyler was an 18-year-old boy in his first year of college at Rutgers, who was trying to figure out who he was and where he fit into the world, as all 18-year-old children do.

He flung himself off the George Washington Bridge, killing himself after his roommate Dharun Ravi videotaped and then spread an intimate moment between Tyler and another man all over social media sites.

In hindsight, I would imagine that this kid Ravi never thought this little bit of cyber bulling would escalate into what it became.

Including this child throwing himself off a bridge.

This morning Dharun Ravi was convicted of the serious charges the prosecution leveled against him including:

   invasion of privacy
   bias intimidation
   witness tampering

Rush Limbaugh on Joseph Kony, huh?

He, Rush Limbaugh, now defends Joseph Kony. Are you freaking kidding me! What is with this guy, is he so delusional that he attacks women, minorities, religions, just people but now this! We now also know Rush Limbaugh also advocates the systematic extermination, slavery, and rape of children! There is something so dissolute with this man, he now encourages the killing of Muslims not the rape and murder of men, women and children.

More Excrement in Broadcasting! From the October 14, 2011 broadcast!

This is a world of ideologies misinterpretations proliferate, we all need to realize that all ideologies have worth, it is only the misinterpretation of these principles that leads to these vast iniquities..

He only encourages Christian warriors with evil hearts only because they are Christian, that is no different from anyone who uses religion to justify their evil. We, the entire human race needs to understand that it is not important what religion we are it is what in our hearts that matters, if this prejudice between beliefs persists this is what is born, men with hearts that are damaged, ones you don’t really ever know if they are serious or not because how could you justify the murder of children?

He, Rush Limbaugh remarks about the Coptic’s in Egypt, which is one of the oldest branches of Christianity beginning in the second century, they have always been discriminated against. And no that is not right either, but neither is the systematic destruction of the world based on religion or the defense of a man who rapes and kills not for his ideas but for, the god forbid, amusement of it because that is the way I see it, when you kidnap children and make them use a gun for YOUR OWN BELIEFS whether for good or evil YOU are the one who is wrong and YOU should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of all laws that apply!

This is what I  love to see this because this is our history http://www.coptic-cairo.com/museum/museum.html not the discrimination of a people simply because you believe their religion is wrong, cases in point the Crusades and the Spanish inquisitions.

There will always be disagreement in belief, but what we, the human race need to do is say all of the victimized have value.

This must and cannot be sanctioned, the rhetoric needs to stop. We must agree to disagree and stop hurting each other based only on our religious beliefs all religions have good in them we must find and take comfort in that and stop killing each other because of it.

Way of the Dragon

Last night I Am Bruce Lee premiered on SPIKE, yes, I am a woman who likes the shows on what is usually known for being a rather masculine network. My favorite show on this particular network is Deadliest Warrior. Being a somewhat of a history buff, I have enjoyed this show.

In the year of the he, the little dragon was born, Lee Jun-fan  November 27 1940, but we knew him a Bruce Lee.

His philosophies were  a dichotomy, the light and the dark and how they must live in harmony within us all, never letting one or the other side rise to prominence. He was a steadfast believer that there must be no racism, sexism, or classism in this world after growing up in Japanese occupied Hong Kong and being bullied as a child by the other occupiers of Hong Kong’s children. He was an exceptional bully’s bully!

Growing up as the only girl in my neighborhood if I wanted to play with the other kids, the boys, I had to play what they wanted to play, the Green Hornet and Batman were on at the time they would always want to be Britt Reid or Batman or Robin. I Only wanted to be Kato, I started dancing when I was 3 and would mimic the moves that Bruce would use as Kato, as best a 5 year old could. I was as far away from looking like Bruce Lee as just about anyone could except we shared the same haircut, I had a shock of bright red hair with a cowlick with a mind of it’s own.

The only Bruce Lee movie my dad ever took me to was Enter the Dragon, and only because he was so important to me. I cried the for hours, knowing that we would never see another Bruce Lee movie because he passed away six days before the release of the movie.

His philosophies were ahead of their time. A faultless mixture of eastern and western theories, the esoteric, and how it all they all related to the fight. Whether the fight was with words, fists or one’s self and whether or when one needed to use one or the other. On my birthday in 1975, the present I received from my Dad was a The Tao of Jeet Kune Do, a first release, it was released 4 days before my birthday, and he had ordered it 6 months previously. Lost now to the inevitable sock in the dryer syndrome it was my favorite book, I would read it at school and everywhere i could it was always in my purse or book bag. Over and over I read it.

Over my fifty years of life I often think what the world lost when we lost Bruce. We know we lost a loving father, a beloved husband and a warrior for the oppressed.

I always think of Bruce when I think there may be some kind of conflict and again I mimic but in my mind, I am a smaller woman but like Bruce I would never back down, he inspired me there is of course NO HONOR in being a coward.

It's been nearly 40 years since he passed away but I think of him often and fondly. We lost a great gift to the world when we lost the 135 pound Lethal weapon.

Thank You Shannon for sharing this wonderful tribute to your Daddy.
